Learning.com Vice President Clark Holmes nominated for CFO of the Year by Portland Business Journal

Portland, Ore. – April 6, 2009
The Portland Business Journal has nominated Clark Holmes, Learning.com's Vice President of Finance and Administration, for its CFO of the Year award. The award honors financial professionals in Oregon or Southwest Washington for outstanding performance in their roles as corporate financial stewards.

Holmes joined Learning.com in 2007 from Xerox where he was manager of financial reporting and systems in the office products division. Prior to Xerox, Clark was corporate controller for Card Capture Services, where he played a leadership role in developing processes and systems for their rapid growth. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Portland State University.

Holmes filled a need for Learning.com to handle not only the financial and administration operations of the business, but also to develop the models and templates for positioning the growing company for its next investment event.

He managed the full financial requirements for the strategic investment in Learning.com by India-based Educomp Solutions LTD in May 2008, which provided significant financial capital for future growth. Since completing the transaction, Holmes has led his finance team to complete the more aggressive financial reporting requirements of our new partner, and has received accolades from the partner for the thoroughness, accuracy and timeliness of his reporting.

"Clark has been a significant contributor to our success in balancing a mission to improve student learning through effective operations control and prudent investment, and the fiduciary responsibilities to our shareholder," says William J. Kelly, Learning.com CEO.

The Portland Business Journal announces its winners at a luncheon in May.
